Bugaboo had an appointment with Holistic Vet Dr. Skiwski of The Western Dragon to discuss nutritional and supplemental needs in conjunction with radiation treatments. Dr. Skiwski said she looks healthy and for starters will just migrate her to a better cat food, Innova Evo and start her on a daily dose of Thorne Research's Feline Geriatric Basic Nutrients. We will check point once she starts radiation and see how she handles it.
Got some work stuff done. Now I've printed out directions, my list of questions for the Alt Vet, and the carrier is by the door. I'm waiting until the absolute last minute to put Bugaboo in the carrier because she's so miserable about it.

Bugaboo did pretty good through the Alt Vet appointment. Since it's focused more on alternative and holistic health the Dr has a happy, hippy office set up. Bugaboo got to explore around and play in catnip while get lots of attention. I'm sure she loved it :)
The Alt Vet said everything about Bugaboo seems really healthy and for now she just suggest migrating her very slowly to a specific cat food (Innova Evo) that's non-grain and high protein which is great for me because I've been trying to find one for Bug forever anyway! I'm an advocate of carnivorous diets for cats. In addition Boo is now getting a daily dose of a multi-vitamin/herbal/mineral supplement. Pretty much equivalant to what most people take but tailored for a cat and it comes in bacon flavored :) I'm allowed to mix it with water to give it as a liquid though which is really helpful. So far Boo seems less turned off by it than the other medicines she's had so that's good. I'll meet with the Alt Vet again once Boo starts radiation to see how she handles it and if there are any negative reactions.
I didn't learning anything particularly shocking. I was pretty pleased that the Dr seemed pretty logical and not out to sell me voodoo. She did mention that if the radiation seems to decrease Boo's appetite or energy levels that acupuncture was something most cats responded to better than herbal treatments for such things. Kind of weird IMHO, but if it comes to that I'll give it a go and see if it helps I guess.
